Hi, I’m Bec, the maker behind Issymae

I am not just a handmade business owner, I am also a wife, mother, and grandmother, and with all these rolls my life is full and very busy, But I still needed a little something that's just mine. I have always been drawn to crafting. Its away for me to slow down and do something just for me, but it is also my love language.

Issymae actually started with my daughters long beautiful hair.  I saw oversized scrunchies everywhere, and though I can make those, and I did. I may have made few interesting samples first buy got there in the end.  It was just a way to scratch my creative itch and the love of designing and creating something new. There’s something pretty special about taking an idea in your head, turning it into something real, and then seeing someone else love it too.

And that is how issymae begin.....

Today our product range has grown to wire headwarps, cardigans, headbands, earring and the list goes on. Making things that help make women feel and look amazing.

Why I Do This

Here’s the truth: I’m a little bit over fast fashion.

I’m over things that are made to be replaced. Things that look good for a season, then fall apart, lose their shape or end up forgotten at the back of the cupboard.

I believe in buying less, but buying better.

In choosing something because you love it not because it’s cheap or because you’ll only wear it a handful of times.

I believe the best pieces become favourites. The ones you reach for time and time again. The ones that make you feel good, that become part of your everyday life, and that somehow feel a little more special because they were made by hand.

That’s why I don’t want to make hundreds of the same thing.

I want to create pieces thoughtfully, using quality materials, with time, care and a whole lot of love behind them.

Every wire headwrap, every crochet piece and every heat pack that leaves my hands carries the same promise:

Because I’m not just making things to sell.  I’m creating beautiful, useful pieces that I hope become the ones you love, use and keep for years to come.

Whatever you're shopping for, a bad hair day rescue, a cardigan that gets you compliments, or a heat pack for the days your body needs a little comfort.  It's all connected by the same idea, handmade pieces that help you feel a little more like yourself, and a little more looked after.

My second love is travelling, weather on I am plane or cruise on the sea, but most for all travelling Australia in my caravan. Exploring somewhere new while crafting along the way with my family is the perfect place to be, for me anyway.

Creating hair accessories for women who want easy, wearable pieces that fit into real life whether you’re heading out the door, dealing with a bad hair day, or just wanting to feel a little more put together without the effort, is what I do best.

Everything I make is designed to be practical, comfortable, easy to use and wear and is also something you’ll reach for again and again.

A Little More About Me

My other loves is travelling.

Whether I’m on a plane, cruising the sea, or my favourite of all exploring Australia in our caravan with the family, there’s something about discovering somewhere new that makes me smile.

And getting to do it with my family, while crafting along the way?

That’s pretty much my perfect place to be. Well, for me anyway. ❤️

Somewhere along the way, Issymae became the perfect combination of two things I love: creating and exploring.

Every order, every message, every lovely comment and every “I love this!” is a little reminder that I get to keep doing something I truly love.

And I don’t take that for granted.
